Independent Motion Graphics and Design Practice
2010–present
Motion Graphics Artist / Designer / Art Director / Producer
Remote and asynchronous since 2010, for Canadian and U.S. clients Toronto; Squamish, BC, 2022–2025
Self-directed practice spanning more than 100 direct-client and studio-mediated engagements for broadcasters, design firms, agencies, technology teams and growing businesses, from hands-on design and animation through art direction, production planning, client communication, review management and final delivery.
Core duties and responsibilities
- Motion design: concept development, storyboards and animatics; typography, composition, timing and sequencing; animation, compositing and finishing; broadcast packages, brand-motion systems, title design, explanatory media and product films carried through to final delivery.
- UX and interface animation: embedded collaboration with product, design and engineering teams; interaction design and animated prototyping; visualization of interface states, transitions and product behaviour; adapting shipped UI into marketing and product-story contexts.
- Social media and multi-format delivery: planning and producing coordinated 16:9 landscape, 9:16 vertical and 1:1 square versions of campaigns; managing platform specifications, durations, safe areas and captioning; building versioning and delivery workflows, including bilingual EN/FR masters, that keep multi-platform campaigns consistent.
- Vision translation and concept films: turning early research, prototypes and product roadmaps into persuasive proof-of-concept and investor-facing videos: the communication work that keeps long-horizon projects funded.
Selected direct and institutional engagements
- Samsung Electronics America, Product Innovation Team 2011–2016: User-interface animation, user-experience motion, interaction and product-concept visualization for early innovation initiatives.
