About

Turning video from a one-off expense into scalable communication infrastructure.

I’m Jordan Lloyd, a senior motion-graphics artist, designer, art director, and video-systems consultant helping businesses turn video from a one-off creative expense into scalable communication infrastructure.

For more than 15 years, I’ve worked across broadcast, technology, product visualization, interface animation, explainer content, and brand-motion systems, collaborating with companies and studios including Samsung, Bell Media, BlackBerry / RIM, IMAX, Vicarious Surgical, HUGE Design, Visual.ly, Sandwich Video, Meta Design, and others.

I’m an Adobe Certified Expert in After Effects and hold a Bachelor of Design from York University and Sheridan College, a background that supports both the technical and strategic sides of my practice.

My current work focuses on Scalable Video Design Systems: repeatable formats, reusable motion assets, structured production workflows, and creative systems that help businesses produce better video more consistently.

Rather than treating motion graphics as isolated deliverables, I help companies think like producers, building the operating system behind the work so video can scale across marketing, sales, education, product, social, internal comms, and customer experience.

I’m also developing training, consulting, and production tools for the next generation of motion professionals: designers who can not only animate, but produce, manage, systematize, and lead modern video work for real businesses.

Education

Bachelor of Design (BDes) · York / Sheridan Joint Program in Design (YSDN) · 2003–2007.

A four-year joint design degree run between York University and Sheridan College, at the time, one of the strongest design programs in Canada. Foundational training across typography, visual systems, design history, and craft. Now superseded by York University's BDes program (still in the Department of Design, School of the Arts, Media, Performance & Design).

Cross-Disciplinary Certificate in Digital Media · York University (Faculty of Fine Arts) · 2007.

A cross-disciplinary York certificate completed alongside the BDes, recognizing digital-media study across the Faculty of Fine Arts. An early formal step toward the screen and interaction work that followed.

Continuing professional development · Extensive self-directed study through fxphd.com early in the career: professional-grade online training in visual effects, compositing, and motion graphics, taught by working industry supervisors. No formal certificate, but a foundational period of deep craft development.

Certifications

Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) · After Effects · 2013

Adobe's product-specific proficiency credential for After Effects. Required passing a comprehensive Adobe-administered proctored exam covering compositing, animation, expressions, and the full motion-graphics workflow. A signal of technical depth at a time when motion graphics was still consolidating as a discipline.

Recognition

Applied Arts Award · Young Blood, Broadcast Graphics (Single) · 2010

Awarded for The Heineken Draught Experience: Calgary, an event-recap film built entirely from animated still photographs, produced at Moment Communications for Molson Coors Canada, directed with Oreon Mounter.
